How to choose a country to live in

A project has been developed that leverages open data sources and Node-RED to create a series of dashboards. These dashboards can help individuals to find the best country to live in based on factors such as longevity, economic prosperity, and extreme weather and environmental conditions. The project utilizes a variety of open data sources to gather information on key indicators for each country, such as life expectancy, GDP per capita, and frequency of natural disasters. This information is then processed and visualized using Node-RED, which provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface for exploring and comparing different countries. The resulting dashboards provide valuable insights and allow individuals to make informed decisions about where to live based on the factors that are most important to them.

Dashboard for data about longevity

Dashboard for data about economic prosperity

Dashboard for data about extreme weather and climate change

This project has been realized by the student Barbara Klimeková in January 2023 as part of the course Data Ethics and Open Data at the UAS Technikum Wien. This course is part of the project IoCEST – Internationalisation of the Curricula in Engineering, Environmental, Smart Cities and Sport Technologies which has been funded by the City of Vienna.
